Hello.

Following the announcement of Tigercats, the musical lineup is now complete for I Can’t Dance To This Music on March 21st at Glasgow’s CCA.

Tigercats are a fantastic, feel-good band from London. They’ve just released a new album called ‘Mysteries’ on Fortuna Pop. We’re absolutely delighted to have them on board.

The lineup now looks like this:

* Tigercats

* Withered Hand (solo)

* Eagleowl

* Prehistoric Friends

* Viking Moses (solo)

* Kate Canaveral

* Henry & Fleetwood

* Randolph’s Leap

* Andrew Learmonth (stand-up)

* Paul McDaniel (stand-up)

* Richie Brown (stand-up)

There is one more comedian who we’ll announce nearer the time. Tickets are still £12 but this will only last until the end of the month. From March 1st they’ll go up to £15. For 8 bands and 4 comedians, we still think that’s a bargain. Get tickets here.

In other news, we’re steadily putting plans together for the year. There are a bunch of gigs in the pipeline, including newly announced shows in Edinburgh and Newcastle (see below). We’re also finalising a live mini-album and putting the finishing touches to our brand new, full-band studio record.

Merry Christmas

Hello. Merry Christmas and thanks to you all for helping us have a great year.

We released our album ‘Clumsy Knot’ in April and it has led to some fantastic adventures. There have been gigs as far north as Shetland and as far south as Brighton, we made a music video at the top of a hill and another one with a weatherman who’s over the hill, we had a crowdsurfer at 1am on the Isle of Eigg, Iain puked in Blackburn, we started running our own event (tickets for the third instalment are available now) and we spent two weeks in the countryside recording our next album (photos below).

Special 2014 thanks to Lloyd Meredith, Johnny Lunch, Kid Canaveral, Keith Holmes, Mike Melville, James Yorkston, Marion Irvine, Kris Ferguson, Ben Cowie and Alan Cameron.

We’ve made last year’s Christmas EP available again with the new addition of Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’. It also features covers of songs by The Smurfs, The Muppets, The State Broadcasters, Aled Jones and more. Download it for free!

Have a lovely Christmas. Hopefully catch you in 2015.

Adam & co.

There’s another cracking bill lined-up for this all-day music event. As if that wasn’t exciting enough we have Gordon McIntyre from legendary outift ballboy, the amazingly talented, loop pedal maestro Adam Stafford and humorous psych folker Chrissy Barnacle. In addition to the music, we’ve lined up three of Scotland’s finest up and coming comedians, Joseph GossSandy Bouttell and Andrew Learmonth.

October dates including James Yorkston tour

Randolph's Leap Oct 2014 Tour
Hello!

Adam here. October is looking busy. I’m delighted to be opening for James Yorkston during an 8-gig tour of England. I’m a big fan of his and looking forward to playing in some new places. I’ll list the destinations at the end of this blog. I’m doing this tour on a bit of a tight budget so I’m doing it solo. If anyone fancies offering me their couch/floor to sleep on then please get in touch at randolphsleap@yahoo.com or via Facebook. In exchange I can offer you free entry to the gig plus some CDs etc. Not to mention wonderful post-gig company.

We’ve got some full band things happening this month too including a gig at Dundee’s Beat Generator on Friday 3rd. I did an interview with Manic Pop Thrills to talk about it. Then there’s a full band Glasgow gig on Saturday 4th as part of the Tenement Trail festival. Catch us in in King Tuts at 10pm. And on the 25th we’re playing in Stirling for the Fused Festival. This one’s particularly good value – free for under 18s and £3 for over 18s.

There are a few more acoustic things happening including the opening night of the Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival and support slots with Gulp and The Burning Hell.

I’m looking forward to all this gigging. Hope to see some familiar faces and some new ones. Remember and get in touch if you can offer shelter during the Yorkston tour!

September update

Hello! I didn’t realise it had been quite such a long time since the last update. Sorry for keeping you all in such nerve-tingling suspense. Been a good summer. We played the Howlin’ Fling festival on the island of Eigg which is one of the best festivals in the world. We had our first ever crowdsurfer And here’s Pete repelling midges… smidge   Then, on July 27th, we hosted our very own event. It was called ‘I Can’t Dance To This Music’. It was ostensibly a single-launch but also what we hope will be a recurring venture. I was really chuffed with the other bands who joined us. Here’s a review of the gig from Manic Pop Thrills. Follow this link for some compelling background info on the single and the opportunity to buy it (in classic ‘giant train ticket + download code’ format) postcard   We also played the Belladrum Festival. It’s the first festival I ever attended and the first one we performed at as a band. So it was nice to be back. We did a second, unplugged set in the whisky bothy. It was very fun. Here’s a flattering photo of us. bella We played a really enjoyable show at the Electric Circus in August. Manic Pop Thrills strikes again with some great photos and a review. But that’s all in the past. What’s next??? On Saturday I’m playing solo at the Long Division Festival in Wakefield. In October we’re playing the following gigs:

Friday 3rdBeat Generator, Dundee

Saturday 4thTenement Trail, Glasgow

Saturday 25thAlbert Halls, Stirling

Sunday 26thRedd Suite, Dundee – Solo, supporting James Yorkston

There will hopefully be something else happening in October. Still thrashing out the details but it’ll be cool if it comes together… It’s also been announced that we’re playing the (now legendary) Kid Canaveral’s Xmas Baubles on December 13th. That’ll be an absolute hoot. Tickets always sell out so head over to the Lost Map site to get yours. That’s about it. We’ve booked some studio time in November. Gonna be recording the next album. Exciting! Catch you later. Adam
